接受與拒絕Offer
透過以上的薪水談判，兩邊給的Offer不會差太多，如果差很多，就很清楚該選哪邊了。雖然薪水不是選工作的唯一因素，但也可以看出公司對你的重視程度。
除了薪水外，還要考慮工作的環境、成長空間、公司福利、在職訓練，最重要的是家人的支持。感謝老婆的支持，願意放棄舒適的居住環境，搬到陌生的城市重新開始。
決定接受Offer後，就可以回信給主管，並開始洽談到職的時間。
接受Offer範本:
Hi, [Manager Name]
Yes, I accept the position!
Thank you for the offer. It is my honor to be a member of your team.
I will work hard and try my best to learn and get familiar with our business soon.

其他的Offer也要禮貌地回信拒絕，因為在同個領域總會有再見面的一天。

如何離職
找到新工作固然開心，但也要瀟灑地離職，以下是幾點離職的注意事項。
- 提早告知主管離職時間
每間公司規定不一樣，但一般是提前2周提出離職申請，在這段時間將工作交接給其他人。我用Email的方式遞辭呈，在信中註明離職的時間，以下是我使用的範本。
Dear [Manager Name],
Please accept this letter as notice of my resignation from my position as the [job title]. My last day of employment will be [the Last Day].
I received an offer to serve as [new job title] of another university, and after careful consideration, I realize that this opportunity is too exciting for me to decline.
It has been a pleasure working with you and your team over the last three years. I believe that the team will be getting better with your lead.
I would like to help with the transition of my duties so that systems continue to function smoothly after my departure. I am available to help recruit and train my replacement, and I will make certain that all reporting and scripts are updated before my last day of work. [Manager Name], thank you again for the opportunity to work for UMSL. I wish you and your team all the best and I look forward to staying in touch with you. You can email me anytime at [Email Address] or call me at [Cell Number].

確定離職的時間後，就可以跟新工作主管確認到職的時間。我在週五離職，隔周一就開始上班，雖然這樣不會用到假期，但卻身心俱疲。建議給自己最少一周的時間調整，可以安排假期或是熟悉新環境，充分休息後再重新出發。
- 剩餘假期兌現
公司一般有3種假期，休假(Vacation)、病假(Sick)、個人假(Personal Day)，只有休假(Vacation)的累積離職後能兌換成現金。所以平常可以先使用個人假、病假，休假等到接近上限再使用，這樣離職後至少可以再多拿一個半月的薪水。
- 退休金Roll over
很多公司幫員工存的退休金，要工作幾年後才會歸屬(Vested)於員工。例如我們公司規定要工作滿三年，離職後才能拿到退休金，如果還沒滿三年就離職，只能拿到自己存的部分，公司存的(Match)部分就拿不到。
離職後有幾個方式處理退休金:
- 直接領出: 如果你急需現金，可以直接領出來，但如果還沒到退休年齡，須繳交不少稅金與罰款。
- 放著不動: 如果覺得原本的理財公司不錯，也可以放著不動，但前公司不會再存錢進去。
- Rollover: 如果你不希望失去退休金的稅利且繼續存錢進去，可以將退休帳戶滾存 (Roll over) 到個人的IRA帳戶或是新公司的退休帳戶。這樣不但能避免罰款，還能繼續享受緩徵所得稅的利益。
- 與同事道別
在職場上，Networking非常重要，我的推薦信就是來自於以前的同事，幫助非常大，所以離職前跟同事互相留下聯絡方式或是加入LinkedIn。
我用個人的Email信箱告知同事離職的消息，以下是我使用的範本。
Dear [同事名字],
You may already have heard the news, but I wanted to take a moment to let you know that I am leaving my position here at UMSL.
I have enjoyed my tenure here and I appreciate having had the opportunity to work with you. I have loved working on [一起共事的項目] projects with you, and enjoying lunch with you on Friday. Thank you for the support, guidance, and encouragement you have provided me during my time at UMSL.
I would appreciate any continued advice you could provide as I start the next phase of my career. Please keep in touch. I can be reached at my personal email address (xxx@xxx.xxx) or via my cell phone – xxx-xxx-xxxx.

- 與主管面談
我在離開前跟主管預約了一個面談，分享在這工作幾年的回饋，也希望主管能給我個人一些建議。是我在這工作以來，收穫最多的一個面談。
因為即將要分道揚鑣，也不用太遮掩，說的都是真心話，但也不是抱怨。這面談的目標是，雙方都能真心地分享，幫助彼此在職場上更進步。
首先我先分享在這工作遇到的困難，如果是人的問題，我會指出事件，而不是人身攻擊，並提供解決的辦法。
接著請主管指出我的優缺點，並專注在缺點上。這是重點，把缺點記下來，想辦法改進，並且不帶到新的工作上。
最後請教主管，他能成功的因素是什麼? 如果時間能倒回到年輕時，會想做些什麼? 我們分享彼此的願景與計畫，並給予祝福後珍重道別。
