Under general supervision of an administrator, performs a variety of instructional and routine clerical duties designed to free the instructor from routine work related to the programs; converses with students in a specified language other than English and translates into English for instructional personnel.

CURRENT OPENING: Twenty-two (22) 10 month/30 hours per week positions, two 10 month/25 hours per week positions, one 10 month/15 hours per week position, and one 10 month/10 hours per week position. The current opening requires the ability to be bilingual and biliterate in SPANISH OR MANDARIN. However, the same list may be used to fill additional or future vacancies for one year. Salary placement will be on Range 14 of the CSEA Salary Schedule “B.” Initial salary placement for new employees is customarily at step 1 ($18.02 per hour) of this salary range.

*Per Board policy, employees are allowed on District campuses or facilities only if they are fully vaccinated. This resolution applies to all applicants upon hire. Applicants are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination status to the Personnel Commission Office on the date of the examination. Applicants will not be allowed to take the examination without being fully vaccinated. People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after completion of two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
